Energy performance: questions to bring to the supplier
Ask for evidence about the complete door, not an isolated material claim.

Energy language can make door shopping sound more certain than it is. A promising description of insulation does not tell you everything about the complete assembly or how it will perform in your opening. Start by asking what documentation applies to the exact configuration being quoted.
If a rating or certification is mentioned, ask which model, size and glazing arrangement it covers and how to verify it. Avoid comparing unrelated figures or assuming that the number for a solid panel also describes a heavily glazed version.
The site matters as well. Tell the supplier about your location, the direction the entrance faces and the existing conditions. Ask the installer how the connection between the new frame and the building will be addressed. Product selection and installation should be discussed together.
You do not need to become a building scientist to make a more careful decision. Keep a short list of questions, request the supporting documents and seek qualified advice where the answers are unclear. A precise explanation tied to your proposed assembly is more valuable than a broad promise of lower bills.
